On two days June, 5th and 6th, Natural Resources and Environment Ministry in collaboration with the HCMC People‘s Committee and related units hold many programs as garbage collection, tree planting, environmental improvements in all 24 counties, districts of the city; mangroves planting to face with climate changes in Cần Giờ. Besides, there are many other activities such as photo galleries, cycling for environmental protection, recycling day, dredging lakes and canals.

Simultaneously, in 63 provinces and cities also take place the activities to encourage sustainable consumption for community and to use of energy resources, technology, products friendly to the environment,to limit the use of fuel resources releasing emissions causing greenhouse effect, management and sustainable using  of natural resources, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change.

At the same time calling to encourage enterprises, domestic and international organizations, agencies, schools, voluntary organizations, neighborhoods and people organize the campaigns, programs, reality beneficial models responding to the World Environment Day 2014: "Live Green" model, cycling for environment program on Saturday and Sunday, environmental sanitation, cleaning rivers, lakes, canals in resident and public areas in the City.

Organizing the launching ceremony, walking for the environment, cycling for environment, general sanitation, planting trees in the urban groups, villages and residential areas in the city; hanging banners, slogans on the main roads, agencies and schools. The general mobilization time from 1st to 8th of June.

On the occasion of The World Environment Day, the Living and Learning for environment Center and the Community also launched the movies, games and guided educational activities with the theme "Fearless natural disaster" contributing to the reducting negative impacts of climate change.

Mrs. Đỗ Vân Nguyệt - Director of the Center said the educational product for reducting natural disaster and handling climate changes include the short film, card games, activity guides organizations wish to create opportunities to "learning and playing" with natural disasters and climate changes. These are the materials for young people, teachers, families and communities using and consulting when organizing educational activities on disaster risk reduction and handling climate changes.

Most prominent among the educational product for reducting natural disaster and handling climate changes is the series film "Fearless natural disaster" with cartoons about storms, floods, landslides and documentary film guiding students in first aid and hanling tornadoes exercise.

World Environment Day this year had the theme "raise your voice, not the sea level” in order to emphasize the important role of protecting environtment, handling with climate changes for vulnerable areas as islands and coastal areas.
