International Workshop “ Đa lat Tourism – Highlands, Integration and Development” in Lâm Đồng

On 26/12, at Sai Gon – Da Lat hotel, Lam Dong PPC held the international workshop “ Dalat Tourism – Highlands, Integration and Development”.

Participating in workshop have : Mr Trần Việt Hùng, Deputy Head Standing of Highlands Steering Committee. The Leaders of Hingland Steering Committee, Leaders of Lâm Đồng province, The Tourism Department and the Embassadors, Consulators, Representatives of foreign and national tourism companies. Workshop  Organization Unit received 30 presentations from delegates, experts, scientists, professional managers of tourism development in the country and internationally.
Mr Nguyễn Văn Tuấn, General Director of the General Department of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said that in 2014 Da Lat has received about 4.8 million tourists, of which nearly 250,000 international visitors. In 2014 the whole area of Highland welcome about 6 million visitors, up 14% over the previous year. International arrivals reached 400,000, an increase of 7%. Revenue from tourism reached 10.000 billion, up to 12% compared to 2013.
In recent years, the Central Highlands has strengthened links to create new products, improve the quality of services, organize the cultural events, sports and tourism to boost promotion, gradually building brands like Da Lat Flower Festival, Dak Lak coffee Festival,  international gong festival, elephant races festival in Buon Don... bringing the image of Highland to farther places, attracting tourists, investors in the country and internationally.

The infrastructure system of tourism sector in Lam Dong province and in the other provinces of Central Highlands has developed rapidly in both quantity and quality, in which Lam Dong has 858 accommodations , with a total of 13,850 rooms and 233 guests from 1-5 stars, 45 local and international travel agencies , 33 sightseeing , historic cultural  places, that has been invested to operator business, more than 60 free sites contribute to the creation of diversity, richness to connect the tours, tourist route between Lam Dong - Highland provinces and other localities in the country.
Hopefully, with the determination and efforts of the authorities, functional departments and of the invovling of entire tourism sector, plus potential tourist advantages of region will create a new breakthrough for Highland tourism, thence attracting more and more tourists to Lâm Đồng and Highlands.
