CDC PARTICIPATE IN WORSHOP “THE ROLE OF PRIVATE SECTOR IN AGRICULTURAL AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT”

On 28/11, Mr Bach Thanh Tuan – Director of Community Development Center (CDC) participated in workshop “The Role of Private Sector in Agricultural and Rural Development”, held by Embassy of Denmark and và Central Institute of Economic Management (CIEM). Workshop is also the closing ceremony of program “Global Competition Capacity Strengthening for Vietnamese Enterprises (GCF)”

 
Participants include: Mr Christian Brix Moller - Vice Danish Ambassador in Vietnam, Mr Amarath Reddy – Senior Advisor of GCF program, and the Delegates from Organizations/ Companies under GCF program.

GCF is a program to support and improve service’s qualitly towards the commercialization of the large number of small enterprises, households businesses as well as farmers, in order to create a positiveand long-term impact for the development of the export sector as well as the value chain.We know that the total aid budget is $ 11 million from Denmark, The GFC has supported funding for 42 projects in eight provinces including Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Lam Dong, Dak Lak , An Giang and Can Tho. GFC focus on innovative projects, creating new services, new business models testing and gradually open to replicate the model in other projects.
 
Besides supporting the  search for new markets, GFC focuses on helping to reduce the financial risk for the Vietnam Enterprises and non-state organizations implementing innovative  ideas project, to identify and bring the new technology and deployment of business models.

Mr Christina Brix Moller - Deputy Danish Ambassador in Vietnam, said: "The results are very impressive. The program has supported more than 40 projects and created 30,000 new jobs for the people. More than 60,000 people have been trained. Income for farmers has increased significantly with remarkable revenue from the export sector. "
 
As part of the value chain, supported by the GCF, Mr. Bach Thanh Tuan, Director of Community Development Center, Representative of Enterprises under GCF program in Dak Lak and Lam Dong, shared some results which the program has achieved in 2 provinces. He said: Thanks to the support of GCF, of which the province of Dak Lak annually save 1.1 billion cost of training and certificating for groups of small farmers; more than 40 producers / exporters enjoy training servicesr as a fee of 200,000 VND / person / day; creating 573 new jobs; 9132 people and 27 businesses have been trained in quality certification of agricultural products; 648 people and 27 businesses have been trained in business management; stimulate invest 1 billion more.

At the workshop, Mr. Bach Thanh Tuan also introduced to the Organisations / Companies about the foundation, methods of operation and orientation in coming time of "Information Portal Supporting Sustainable Agriculture Development "implemented by the CDC. Tuan said, with a mission to "Connecting Knowledge, Serving Community," CDC would like to continue receiving financial support, companionship and support of all domestic and international organizations / companies  to aim "Together Giving Hands  Towards Prosperity  For Community".
