In 2 days (18/10 -19/10), National Agariculture Extension Center (NAEC) cooperated with Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Gia Lai to organize the contest “The best productive farmer in the Central Highlands” in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province.
The contest attracted farmers who come from the most famous productive coffee places in the country, participate exciting before harvesting coffee season in 2012. This is not only the useful playground for farmers ưmeet and share experience together, but also connecting farmers grow coffee in 5 provinces of the Central Highlands. Furthermore, there was 400 delegates and farmers from different provinces jointed and cheered players on.
Mr Tran Huu Bien, comes from Bau Can commune, Chu Prong district, Gia Lai province, said “This contest is place to meet, to share useful knowledge, experience for us. I got accquanited with another farmers. Furthermore, the contest helped our farmers to approach manager, scientist and enterprises. My family was the first household join the programme of sustainable coffee development in my commune in 2000, with 2,5ha square. So, I found that supplied information is usefuland practical.

Dr. Phan Huy Thông, Director of NEAC, said “Through this contest, the farmers are not only working hard on the farm, but also being a talent actors and actresses on the stage. They are confident, intelligent, controlling scientific and technical progress, much more experience in cultivating coffee. Fans from different provinces also made the successful contest while they join exciting, sharing, learning each other.”

Although, the contest “The best productive coffee in the Central Highlands” was end, it got a lot of impressive knowledge for participates, juries who are expert of Planting Bureau, director of Community Development Center (CDC), Agro-Forestry Science Institute in the Central Highlands. Even though, any team got victory, distributed knowledge about sustainable agriculture development is helpful for coffee farmers on the bazan land in the future.
