More than 3000 of youth participating ebulliently in the Earth Day 2014

(CDC) – Earth Day program brought activities and message which is meaningful for citizens of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City, especially young people.

Responding to international Earth Day (April 22), in the morning of April 20, the activity of Earth Day in HCM City with the subject: “One day for Việt Nam” organized ebulliently by Green Talk project under The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO – CEP) with many meaningful activities and the participations of more than 3,000 young people in domestic and foreign.

The highlight of program is the Flash mob dance calling for 50,000 fingerprints and commitments of no littering day. Besides, there were so many ebullient activities which attracted many young people participating such as: Marathon Photo contest for Earth Day with environment subject and the activities of “Green Hours”, “Green Booths”, recycling; making materials from recycle ; cycling propaganda , modified nylon bag ; participate in games , collection garbage from some routes , advocating people to save water and electricity , planting trees , removing all trash at designate locations , ... Especially, impressive music night with deaf youth community (DCOH )

It ‘s the first Earth Day program uses multi-languages which Earth Day World Network commission Vietnam to implement . The program has brought the activities and meaningful messages to the HCMC People , especially young people who are favorite volunteer activities .

Actor - Model Truong Nam Thanh , Ambassador of Earth Day in Vietnam saidhe hope that the Youth not onlyprotects the earth but also tries to learn , workswell andgives their enthusiastic efforts into meaningful Activities like this, the Youth shouldn’t have thought that joining this program will get any benefits at this moment , because it is the volunteer community activity and helpful for Future Generations.
