Cocoa price in the Central Highlands rise continuously

(CDC) - Price of dry cocoa beans in the Central Highlands is higher than the same period last year about 10,000 VND / kg.

Cocoa growers in the Central Highlands are excited because of increasing of cocoa price as well as quality and stability yeild of cocoa in the havesting period . In the past one month, the price of dry cocoa in Central Highlands ranges from 58,000-64,000 / kg, higher than the same period last year about 10,000 VND / kg.

 

According to producing and trading cocoa enterprises, the primary cause of increasing cocoa prices is reducing of the world cocoa productivity. This is very beneficial to farmers in the Central Highlands, because the quality of cocoa has increased significantly, and yields remain stable.

In 2013, Cargill Vietnam Limited Company in Dak Lak was purchased – exported more than 1,000 tons of dried cocoa seeds, accounting for 60% of total production in the province and 20% the whole country.

 

"Cocoa in the Central Highlands has good quality and it is also the most stable supply of cocoa beans in the world. According to the experts’ forecast, the supply of cocoa is shortage from 60,000-120,000 tons. Therefore, this will offer stable prices for cocoa growers. Moreover, for cocoa products under UTZ program, farmers are also added from 4,000-5,000 dong / kg ", said by Mr. Nguyen Ba Dung, officer staff of Cargill Vietnam Co.
