Workshop: Final Report of project ACP Daklak – Package CN18 – HPA2

In the morning of Dec 18th 2013, at Dam San hotel – Buon Ma Thuot city, Community Development One Member Ltd.,(CDC) cooperated with Project Management Unit of project Agriculture Competiveness Project of Daklak (ACP Daklak) to hold the closing workshop: “Transfering the model household coffee production to certified coffee production”

Participants included: Mr Bạch Thanh Tuấn, Director of CDC.Mr Nguyễn Thanh Tâm, Deputy Director of CDC; Mr Huỳnh Quốc Thích, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province; Mr Nguyễn Quang Thụ Deputy Director of PMU of project ACP Đăk Lăk; and the model owners and project involed units.

The topic: Transfering the model household coffee production to certified coffee production”
The package CN18-HPA2 in framework of project ACP Daklak, is implemented from December 2012 to December 2013 at Cư M’gar, Krông Năng distrists and Buôn Hồ town- Đăk Lăk province to provide the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and global market information for farmers, that makes the high position for farmers on market and ensure the traceability ability from the farmer to the roaster, increases quality and effective of sustainable development in coffee production in Daklak.
 
At the workshop, Mr Nguyen Thanh Tâm, Deputy Director of CDC reported some achived result after 01 year of implementation as follow:
- Organizing 15 traning classes for 3 districts/ towns with total 450 learners participated
- Organizing 3 traning classes ToT extension staff of project area with 80 learner participated.
- Organizing successfully 09 on-site workshops about the successful model for farmers to learn and visit, change experiences with 376 farmers participated.
- Completing 01 transfering process of caring techniques for coffee torwards sustainable development as Rainforest standard, which was approved by Deparment of Agriculture and Rural Development.
- Developing 01CD on introducing transfering process of caring techniques for coffee torwards sustainable development as Rainforest standard
- Completing the prochure of guiding process to popular and expand the coffee production as sustainable Rainforest standard.
After discussing and evaluating the result of the project, Mr Huynh Quoc Thich, Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Dak Lak province, said: "sustainable coffee production is not only requirement in the current but also target in the future. Therefore, with the success of this topic, I wish the model will be expanded in other coffee areas in Daklak in particular and the Central Highlands in general ".

Mr. Bach Thanh Tuan, Director of CDC, said: "On behalf of the Project Implementation Unit, I would like to thank the PMU for your support on prbudget and help us during project implmentation. The results of the project will not only help farmers increase productivity, quality of their own coffee garden, but also raise awareness about coffee production in a sustainable way. With the success of this project, CDC wants PMU to continue investing in coffee production models with certification to the farmers in other areas.

After the successful final report of this topic, the results of the model will be expand to other coffee-growing area of Dak Lak province, as well as expand the beneficiaries. All these achievements have created favorable conditions for farmers with the opportunity to study, apply to the coffee plantations of family farming in order to develop sustainable coffee.
