Project “ Transfering model of changing the household coffee production to certified coffee production”

·         Time: from December 2012 to December 2013.
·         Location: Krông Năng dist, Cư M’Gar dist, Buôn Hồ town - Đăk Lăk province.
·         Sponsored unit: World Bank (WB).
·         Implementing unit: Community Development Center (CDC).

General goal: transfering the certified coffee production model for farmers/ farmer groups to provide to coffee farmers the knowledges on doing Good Agricultural Practices and global maket information. Certifying also help to creat high position for farmers on market when buyers have need to buy certified coffee, ensuring traceability from the farmer to the roaster to improve the quality and effectiveness of sustainable development in coffee production of province.

· Detail goal:
- Through the measures: surveying to assess the status and need of farmers/ farmer groups before implementing project to evaluate correctly cultivating, producing, storage and trading coffee status in Daklak in order to selete the right certification to apply for farmers/ farmer groups
- Popularing voluntary certified standards applied
- Transfering the certified standards to farmers, aim to achive some below goals:
+ Reducing input cost from 10 to 15 %
+ Increasing productivity compared to control experiment from 12 to 15 %
+ Increasing income for coffee farmers from 15 to 18 %
+ Improving the quality of product
- rasing awareness certified coffee production and farmers’ skill through training classes, training techniques and visiting successful model.
